OBJECTIVES

1. To improve students' abilities of using pupils' senses through "hands-on activities" that involves seeing, reading, listening, talking and doing activity.

2. Master the four basic reading skills (reading, writing, listening,talking) in Bahasa Melayu ( Rumi/Jawi) and in English.

3. To encourage and motivate student's passion for reading through different kinds of reading resources and electronics.

4. To expose students with the different varieties of reading materials.

5. To enrich pupils' vocabulary in Bahasa Melayu as well as in English.

6. To create a cooperative spirits among students in groups/pairs in solving daily problems i.e. analising, classifying, sequencing, describing meaning/theme etc.

7. To create a positive and condusive surrounding towards a cheerful and motivational reading habit.

8. To create a different reading situation away from the classroom.

OUR TARGET

The school is aiming that every student can read more than 50 books in 4 months time. Every student is given a record book which, consists of dates and the title of the books that they have read. This will help teachers to keep track the numbers of books each student have read. In 4 months time, the students who can't read or slow in reading will at least be able to read one or two books fluently.

MASS READING ACTIVITIES

An activity called "Reading Week/Mass Reading" is being held once a month where different types of activities such as exchanging reading material, reading together, silent reading and educational games can be carried out.

Pupils can also exchange ideas/experience of what they have read.
